Insight Thursday Event: Enhancing Public Transport Safety with AISECTRANS

In the recent Insight Thursday session, BYSGRUP Managing Partner Dr. Osman Tolga Kaskati shared valuable insights on the AI-based Secure and Safe Framework for Public Transportation (AISECTRANS) project, successfully implemented in Thailand with the support of ADB’s Technology Innovation Challenge (TIC).

AISECTRANS uses artificial intelligence to monitor driver behavior, track operational risks, and ensure passenger safety in real time. Developed by a Turkey-based consortium in collaboration with Thai operators, this system demonstrates how innovative technologies can be adapted to local needs, providing a scalable solution for safer and smarter urban mobility across Asia.

The session delved into usability, adoption, and scalability lessons learned from the pilot implementation.

About the Technology Innovation Challenge

The Technology Innovation Challenge (TIC) calls for technology providers to submit proposals that deploy innovative solutions to address a specific development challenge that ADB teams have identified. The winning proposal is awarded a grant to accelerate the implementation of the proposed technology solution. TIC is being implemented by the ADB Innovation Hub and is financed on a grant basis by the High-Level Technology Fund and administered by ADB.

AISECTRANS is one of the pilot projects of ADB Innovation Hub and is financed on a grant basis by the High-Level Technology.
