BYS Grup Participated in the Second CustomAI General Assembly in Denmark

BYS Grup participated in the second in-person General Assembly of the CustomAI Project, held in Haslev, Denmark, on 23–24 September 2026.

Hosted by the project coordinator, Legind Technologies A/S, the two-day meeting brought together CustomAI consortium partners and members of the External Advisory Board to review the project’s technical progress, coordinate ongoing activities and align the roadmap towards the upcoming pilot demonstrations.

The first day of the General Assembly focused on the project’s three main use cases: cultural goods, postal parcels and seaport container inspections. Discussions covered end-user requirements and operational scenarios, user interface and pilot design, testing environments and procedures, as well as the future exploitation and sustainability of project results.

The second day concentrated on the technological components underpinning the CustomAI solution. Consortium partners reviewed progress in areas including sensor and scanning technologies, AI-based threat detection, software architecture and interoperability, blockchain-supported cargo tracking, risk-based predictive analytics and the Virtual Customs Control Office (VCCO). The partners also agreed on key priorities and actions for the next implementation period

The meeting provided an important opportunity to assess the progress achieved across the project, strengthen coordination among technical and end-user partners and ensure that technological developments remain closely aligned with real operational customs needs.

CustomAI is a 36-month Horizon Europe Research and Innovation project developing AI-driven technologies to improve the accuracy and efficiency of customs controls. The project brings together 20 partners from eight countries and focuses on three real-world use cases designed to support more intelligent, secure and efficient customs operations.

As a project partner, BYS Grup contributes to the CustomAI initiative through its expertise in customs-related use cases, project coordination, communication and dissemination activities, supporting the effective cooperation between technological developments, operational requirements and project stakeholders.

Through its participation in the General Assembly, BYS Grup continues to contribute to the development of innovative, data-driven and AI-supported solutions aimed at strengthening customs controls, border security and the secure flow of international trade.
